Hi, everybody! This is my blog. Hopefully it gives you an overview of my interests and can show you a story of what I'm about - my personal quest for all things awesome.
A few quick details about me: I'm in my Junior year at MIT, where I'm studying Mechanical Engineering taking a hybrid degree focusing in Product Design that also allows me to take some Electrical Engineering/Computer Science courses. I'm also minor-ing in Chinese Foreign Language (also taking a few culture classes) and am looking forward to fluency by graduation.
Enough about courses: What Else?! - I love skiing and am on the MIT Men's Alpine Ski Racing team. I also like to do ski jumps (progress thus far at http://kevinrustagi.com/ski-video-spring-break-2008).
I love music -listening, exploring, and creating. I have been playing drums avidly since middle school, and in college I have been picking up vocals and even a bit of guitar (just basic pop acoustic songs so far). Last year I started a band at MIT (playing drums/some vocals), The Guitar Knives. More details at http://theguitarknives.com. I'm also the drummer/songwriter (three of us write everything) in a Houston-based band, name currently in flux, which has just begun recording our latest songs!
I'm starting a new business, whose 1st product is based on my business cards (http://kevinrustagi.com/project-z and http://kevinrustagi.com/my-card), which is a grand experiment where I really get to see how products are sold and branding works. We are working now to use early funding to fulfill our growing waitlist.
I'm currently helping to lead a new student group that my friends and I have started, The MIT Live Music Connection, (http://theinfinitemusic.com) which seeks to bring the live music community together on campus. We're doing this currently by holding our first concert series, and we are looking forward to pursuing creative avenues of bringing different parts of MIT together in a unified way through their mutual passions for live music.
I live to pursue my passions. I am actively seeking to get the most out of life and live every moment.
I started the blog in March 2009, and feedback is always welcome. Please feel free to email me at rustagi@mit.edu with any questions/comments, or just post a comment if you're a Facebook user.
Enjoy!
